Thanx so much for sharing your growth! I have the same mission in life; to pursue personal growth and help others grow! I'm constantly researching for answers on how to face my fears. I thought that I just needed more knowledge and understanding of all the complexities of myself and people and life. More, more, more obviously didn't get me very far, because, like a slap in the face, when it came down to facing the fears in a real situation, I still failed miserably. Knowledge gave me a better perspective and broader outlook on life, but it's the ACTIONS that lead to the real answers! We have to learn through experience! We have to LIVE to be ALIVE! That's as simple as it gets! LOL I just now made that up! Your article has truly inspired me to stop hiding behind the complexities and start taking action! Thanx again, and I'm looking forward to reading your other suggested articles, especially "The Joy of Living Dangerously".

As a fellow programmer, I'm so fascinated to see someone approaching life in a generally pragmatic way, similar to my own. What's more fascinating is reading these articles knowing that you've likely been "at it" longer than I have.

Great work; you're a talented writer.

Turning 30 days challenges into a lifestyle
--
In your life many things happens out of nowhere. It all started
with some prostitutes on Ramblas, the main street of Barcelona.
Why where they always asking about blow jobs, except a few girls?
Google gave me the answer and search also lead me to 30sleeps.

After reading some articles I started my first 30 day challenge.
The idea of talking to one girl each day for 30 days is not new.
Many people giving advices on dating suggest similar things.
Like talking to a lot of different people to get comfortable with
social interactions. And I understood it make some sense, but
never tried.

Have you notices how good your mind is to make up excuses?
Talking to one girl each day, would not that be stupid? Unlike
I turned the uncomfortable into a challenge. For the next 30,
each day I should talk to one new girl. And sales girls did
not count. But wait, I studying abroad in a country not know
for their ability to speak English and my Spanish were non existing.
It already started and for once I fooled my own mind.

The first days where easy. Social activities arranged, made it
easy to meet girls. So simple, why should this be a challenge?
After some days things changed and I had to approach girls.
Going up to a girl without any reason feels wrong. Were there
any excuses to use? By now you should notice how this was another
attempt to find an excuse to drop the challenge.

Somehow it worked, using simple tings like asking why people are
protesting. Or ask for the way and starting a conversation
when getting followed. Going out alone to meet new people or
calling up strangers so she can practice English and learn me
Spanish. Also using some humor works great. One night I was
discussing sauce recipes with two hungry girls that where
hunting pidgins during the night.

There are those small things that push you in the right
direction. Away from intellectual masturbation and into
action. Making you alive and willing to walk uncertain
roads. This page provided a trigger in the right environment.

Would someone be interested in hearing the continuation?

We might not get more content than we create for a while. What about writing posts about how this page changed out lives? My post will come tomorrow. Yes, that entry will be part of a 30 day challenge :)

Hi Brad, we had corresponded via email once before. Your articles have played a part in inspiring me to leave my job and try my hand at entrepreneurship.

I won't forget one of things you'd written regarding your purpose (I know I'm really butchering it, but I'll try):

Help people to grow.
Write articles.
Profit.

Well, please continue to help people grow and write the articles (I keep checking back and you haven't updated your blog). You've certainly got a gift and I would hate to see it wasted.

On another note, I think you have the foundation for a platform of personal development, which could evolve into a utility that you could get patent protection for. Just keep going at it and let's see where it goes. But like the last reader said, if you stop writing articles, your readers will disappear. I also have checked back about 20 times for new content.

Anyway, best of luck man.

When? Unless providing more content, the old readers will disappear. I am one of those that have been checking several times each week since last post, but starts to get fed up.

I've not been particularly good at making time to create content worth reading lately, but I certainly plan to churn out more actionable inspiration Real Soon Now. ;)
