Who am I?

Brad Bollenbach

My name is Brad Bollenbach and I write the 30 sleeps blog. I’m a 29-year-old, Montreal-based adventure capitalist on a mission to help others grow.

In a previous lifetime, I was the Lead Developer of the official bug tracker of Ubuntu Linux. I later went on to develop web applications with Ruby on Rails, most notably as part of the team that built the AT&T Williams F1 website.

My interests include reading, watching movies, usability and UI design, longboarding, social skydiving, and long walks on the beach. I love to travel to far away places and lose myself in other cultures. I once spent a night sleeping on the window sill of a Lithuanian customs kiosk. Long story.

What is 30 sleeps?

The purpose of this blog is to give me a space to think out loud on life hacking, lifestyle design, and the joy of living dangerously, in the hopes that others might benefit from it.

I started this site by asking myself: What do I find most frustrating about the world? The answer, for me, was that so many people seem to live at a fraction of their potential. So, I combined my love of computers with my passion for personal development, and 30 sleeps was born.

I launched this site on July 1, 2007, with the goal of monetizing the pursuit of happiness. It is now my full-time diversion.
